The Advanced Computing Group at the University of Maine has been formed to provide computing infrastructure and support for the research needs of the state of Maine. The compute resources reside in the newly renovated UMS Data Center in Orono.
The primary resources that we have include a 6.1 TeraFLOPS cluster from Penguin Computing with 512 compute cores running at 3.0 Ghz, with 3 TB of RAM and 40 Gbps QDR Infiniband for interprocess communication.
Our visualization server is back online after making the move to the new data center and being completely rebuilt with OS and software. It currently has Matlab 2012b installed and VirtualGL for fast remote 3D visualization and collaboration. More packages will be installed soon. The address is the same as it was before: viz.clusters.umaine.edu and current users of Marconi can access this system with their same credentials.
There are currently no open positions within the ACG.
