Introduction

We've long been a little slack about documentation here at the ACRL. Previously, we just relied on the mailing list or separate emails to document changes and get people going on the clusters. While we have good excuses (maybe even reasons) for doing so, mostly attributed to the workload of keeping the cluster up and running, the final roll-out of the recent upgrades has given us what will hopefully be a stable and easy to maintain system. This being the case, we now have time work on this documentation, hopefully with your help!

Our Mission

  • To reduce the steep learning curve required to get running on the clusters.
  • To provide a single resource for documentation where everyone can contribute and benefit from each other.
  • To contribute back to the HPC and OSS community, without which we would not exist.

How you can help

There are two major ways you can help us. The first, and easiest, is to use this documentation as your first resource when you have questions or problems with the cluster. As issues are reported and fixed, they will be added here so that everyone may benefit from the solution. If you notice a topic which is missing, something which needs a better explanation, or even just a spelling mistake, let us know so we can fix it.

Secondly, it is our hope that you might also use this wiki to collaborate within your own research groups and with each other. Access to edit the pages will be given gladly and this is a great place to put your compile instructions, PBS scripts, or various tips for the software you are using. Not only will you be helping each other and those who work in your departments in the future, but also the HPC community.
